Here is the Introduction to Power Quotes to Energize Your Life--A Motivational System to Make You More Dynamic Introduction Why This Book? It is a common experience that people become energized when they hear or read a powerful quote. Frequently, the quote is what they remember long after they have forgotten most of the speech or article in which it was cited. For example, on a number of occasions, students and clients have told me that a striking quote I had stated to them years earlier had become a key guidepost for their lives. As I thought of how I could quickly convey the elements of the inspirational system I have used to get dramatic improvements in attainments from those I have taught/coached/advised, I came upon the idea of a set of quotes so organized that they would imbue the reader’s mind with motivational principles that greatly enhance performance. I created this book so a reader could have at hand some of the most powerful thoughts ever expressed on how to live, and uniquely arranged to motivate one to become more dynamic and achieve greater success. This book is based on the notion that a moment of inspiration is worth many hours of exhortation. We can receive many hours of advice and guidance and it may have little effect on us. The moment a teacher/coach/advisor inspires us, however, this impels us to want to take action to live more dynamically. I have therefore focused on providing many of the most powerful inspirational thoughts available, knowing that each of these, absorbed into a reader’s mind, can become a generator of dynamic living. I have sought to provide a book that can be read very quickly and yet give an enormous amount of inspiration. This is because many of the clients I advise are very busy people. Also, I do not feel a reader should have to wade through pages of dense material to get help. Opening this book at any page, one immediately gets powerful inspiration. Its Uniqueness Unlike other collections of quotes, this book is not just an accumulation or assortment. The arrangement of the chapters and their sections reflects the powerful motivational system that I have used to get remarkable improvements in achievement from many students and clients. For each topic, the quotes have been selected and organized to provide a comprehensive, inspiring perspective, offering guideposts the reader can follow to achieve excellence. For example, look at the quotes in Chapter 1. The vibrant thoughts on each topic are so arranged that they provide a focused, energizing view of life. Very quickly, they give a powerful philosophy of life—it is as if some of the finest minds have been brought together to provide the reader, in just a few minutes, with great wisdom on how to live. This same approach has been used to order the quotes in the other chapters, so that they make the reader feel better about life and want to achieve more. The Motivational System From years of helping many people to achieve greater success, I have concluded that those who reach high levels of performance manifest six primary qualities, which are the focus of Chapter 1 of this book: - Belief in the value and significance of their lives. No matter how humble their lives, they were driven by the belief that they had a unique contribution to make, that there was something special about their lives.
- Conviction that the opportunities they had, even if not glamorous, were the bridge to a better future and that with dynamic, intelligent living they could create better opportunities.
- Belief that they were not weak and helpless, but had the inner power to drive toward their goals. Even when there seemed no way out of a dilemma facing them, they had the feeling that their inner desire for a resolution and for success would lead to better circumstances.
- Readiness to take efficient action. They did not dream idly of better times but were always ready to take appropriate action to better their lives.
- Energy that came not merely from good physical health but from a deep mental desire to succeed.
- Tremendous enthusiasm for pursuing their goals. They did not merely talk about wanting success; they showed genuine ebullience for moving toward their goals.
No matter what fears, doubts, or anxieties these achievers experience, they adhere to these qualities enough to enable them to move forward resolutely and attain worthy goals. Generally, the first three qualities lead to the manifestation of the other three. However, I have encountered a number of cases in which inspiring a person to intensify her activity and be more energetic and enthusiastic helped to sharpen her inner focus and manifest more intensely the first three qualities—appetite came with eating! As I have helped many students and clients to attain higher levels of success, I have found that many of the qualities that are frequently extolled as key ones that lead to success can never be had unless the six qualities just described are there as preconditions. We may be told to “dream great dreams,” for example, but we will never be able to unless we feel that we have something unique to offer in life—the first quality. We may be told to persevere, be disciplined, be determined in order to achieve more, but we will never be able to, and will become disillusioned and give up, unless the first three qualities are present. We may be told that to be successful we must have faith. But we will never be able to have faith and manifest it in our daily lives unless these six qualities are in us. We may be told that excellent habits lead to success but our effort to acquire these habits will falter unless we have the six primary qualities to give us the drive to acquire the habits. Inspiring words on these qualities help to stimulate their manifestation. This is why the six sections of Chapter 1 focus on these qualities. Reading the quotes in this chapter and mulling over their significance imbue the mind with correct perceptions on the role of these qualities and energize one to utilize them effectively to have greater attainments. The nine chapters following Chapter 1 provide powerful quotes that help to intensify the application of these qualities in key areas of life, ensuring optimal living. Chapter 2 delineates attitudes and orientation that facilitate the use of the six primary qualities to achieve more. Chapter 3 presents very motivating thoughts on time management that make possible more efficient living, and Chapter 4 offers powerful thoughts on attitudes and qualities that enable “soul refinement.” Chapter 5 is particularly relevant to those engaged in management and leadership in business, organizations, government, etc. However, the insights can be readily used to manage our own lives optimally—and what greater enterprise is there to manage than that of the people and situations in our own daily lives? Chapter 6 gives the impetus to use mental power more effectively to magnify abilities and enhance opportunities for success. Chapter 7, especially relevant to learning and education, facilitates dynamic living in these pursuits. Chapter 8 elevates the reader’s view of art, music, history, economics, reading, writing and other fields of endeavor. I have always found that when people recognize the grandeur in these pursuits, their own lives become brighter, more meaningful. Chapter 9 is a cogent guide to getting command over difficulties, and Chapter 10 inspires the reader to create productive and loving relationships. Chapter 11 has concluding thoughts reminding the reader of the importance of putting into practice the principles of this book and of the benefits that would be obtained from doing so. How to Use This Book Reading this book from beginning to end will let you get the full range of inspiration of the powerful quotes provided and will imbue your mind with the motivational system they embody. But to get the most from this book, you should view it as inspiration from a personal coach to which you should refer often—wisdom can be elusive, and in the rush and press of daily life, you can quickly lose sight of guiding principles unless you often remind yourself of them. The section above on “The Motivational System” stated the focus of the various chapters of this book. When you need to become more focused to deal with a challenging situation, choose parts of the book to which you feel drawn and read them. This will mobilize your internal power so you can do your best. To deepen your application of the insights of a quote, think of its relevance to your life. Picture in your mind situations in which you could have benefited from using the guidance it provides. Even a few minutes per week of this contemplation will sharply enhance the skill with which you manage your life. It is a key principle of learning that as you focus intensely on a topic, you get deeper insights on it. So as you pay keen attention to the quotes and mull over how they can be used to improve your life, you will frequently be surprised at the insights you will get. Perhaps because I have spent so much of my life teaching, when I encounter new knowledge I always ask myself: Who could benefit from instruction on this? How would I teach this? Asking these questions has always provided me with valuable insights. I suggest that you also ask them.
